Half a day down 729.5 days left to go!

Jacob reported to the MTC at 12:30 today.  There were tons of other missionaries being dropped off at the same time.  After taking some pictures where the MTC sign used to be we (mom, dad, Carly and I) drove into the MTC parking lot and dropped him off.  There were about 25 drop off points with designated numbers.  A group of about 6 missionaries were there to greet us and take Jacob away.  That moment was the weirdest moment of my life (this is Lindsey, Jacob’s sister).  I was just talking to him one minute and the next minute he was walking off to a different life for the next 2 years.  It was really sad for me because I knew I couldn’t talk to him or send him a text message whenever I wanted anymore!  It was happy at the same time because I know he is doing an amazing thing.  I’m really excited to read his first email and hear his feelings about his first day!

Here are some pictures from today:

Today is THE Day!

Elder Hatch is leaving to the MTC today!  If you want to write Jacob, we’ve heard that www.dearelder.com is really easy to use.  It’s free to send mail to the pouch address and the Provo MTC, and they offer cool care packages you can send.  If you prefer to mail him letters yourself then his addresses are on the right.  The postage to the Lima MTC (he’ll be there in 3 weeks) is $.98.  I’ll put up pictures tonight of the MTC dropoff!
